Two sisters knocked down and killed by mini truck

Two minor school girls were knocked down and killed and three others injured by a mini truck at Bahir Gangarampur in Howarh district which led the angry locals to set the vehicle and the drivers house on fire.

Police said the two girls, who were siblings aged 11 and 9 years were standing near the road when the mini truck hit them. The girls were killed on the spot, the police said.

Three other girls were injured in the incident and were rushed to a nearby hospital, the police said.

Angry locals set the house of the driver, which is located near the site as well as the soon after the accident. A fire tender was rushed to douse the flame, fire brigade sources said.
 

While the driver fled the spot, none was in his house when the locals set fire to it, the police added.
