Two narcotic smugglers were arrested and around 130 kg of poppy straw was recovered from their possession, police said here.
Police intercepted a tanker and during search recovered 130 kgs of poppy straw at Dogra Chowk in the city yesterday, police official said.
The smugglers, identified as Gurdev Singh (owner of the tanker) and Kartar Chand (driver of the tanker) were taken into custody, he said, adding both the accused have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
