Two smugglers held with 20 semi-processed pistols

Two arms smugglers were arrested today with a haul of semi-processed pistols from a locality under Qasim Bazar police station area in Bihar's Munger district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, a police team arrested the two, identified as Pankaj and Md Irshad, from Sandalpur Chowk and seized two semi-processed pistols and as many barrels from their possession, Inspector General of Police (IG), Operations, Amit Kumar said.

He said Pankaj, hailing from Bhagalpur district, had brought the consignment of weapons by a train from West Bengal to deliver to Irshad, a native of Sandalpur Chowk.

The duo were being interrogated, the IG said.
