Two snatchers nabbed by police

Two persons including a juvenile who used to snatch mobile phones from women and then sell them on a popular classifieds website have been nabbed by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed the duo near Angrish Bharti Public School at Narela on Sunday.

The duo had committed a spate of robberies and snatching at Bawana in the last few months creating panic among the local residents, police said claiming to have worked out fives cases of robbery with their apprehension.

"The accused disclosed that they have sold two mobile phones through olx.Com which were robbed by them from Bawana area," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
 

According to police, the accused, Sunil Khatri (27), made use of the school dropout juvenile offender's biking skills in committing crimes, especially snatching from female pedestrians.

"During commission of such crime, the juvenile used to ride the motorcycle while accused Sunil Khatri used to snatch gold chains or mobile phones from the pedestrians, mostly women," Yadav said.

Police also claimed to have recovered two robbed iPhones, a motorcycle and a fake number plate, which the accused disclosed to have used while committing bike-borne crimes.
