Two Sri Lankans arrested for trying to smuggle gold

Two Sri Lankan nationals have been arrested at the international air terminus here while trying to smuggle 470 grams of undeclared gold from Colombo, airport sources said today.

Mohammad and Isaruddin, after alighting from a flight from Colombo last night around 8 PM, tried to leave the airport with the gold, when customs officials nabbed them, they said.

The gold seized from the two, who came on a tourist visa to India, was valued at Rs 12 lakh, they said.
