Two school children got drowned in a canal at Pathapadu village of Konakanamettla mandal of Prakasam district this evening, police said.
The victims, identified as Manojkumar (10) and Saikrishna (11), who belong to Pathapadu village, had gone to swim at the Velugonda farm canal when the incident took place, said Podilli Circle Inspector B Ravi Chandra.
The bodies were later fished out and sent for post-mortem, police said.
Further investigation is on.
