In separate incidents two youths allegedly committed suicide, apparently over failed love affairs, police said today.
A Venu (25), a B-Tech graduate who was preparing for civil services exams, allegedly hanged himself at his rented room at Chintal last night, reportedly because a girl he was in love with rejected his proposal.
Venu sent a message to his friend on a social networking site that he was upset over the behaviour of the girl who was avoiding him, Jeedimetla Police said.
In another incident, B Arun, a college student, who had consumed some poisonous substance on the college premises on September 28, died at a hospital last evening in Secunderabad, Alwal police said.
He too took the extreme step after a heart-break, police said.
