Two tea garden workers were injured in elephant attack at Malbazar in Jalpaiguri district today.

A herd of three elephants strayed from nearby habitat into a plantation and injured the two plantation workers, a forest official said.

Both the injured labourers were taken to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital, the official said.

In a similar incident, a jumbo went on rampage at Madhya Satali village and adjoining hamlets in Alipurduar district, drinking locally made brew and eating crops, another forest official said.

Two cattle and a pig were killed in the twin elephant attacks in the adjoining districts.
