Two teenagers drown in Ganga river in Varanasi

Two teenagers were washed away in the Ganga river while trying to save their uncle who slipped into the water while bathing at Samne ghat today, police said.

Shivam Dubey (14) and Saransh Dubey (16), from Chandauli district, went to take a bath along with their maternal uncle Pintu, who slipped into the river.

The duo, in an attempt to save their uncle, went into the deep waters and washed away by the current. However, their uncle was saved by the locals.

Their bodies were fished out by divers and have been sent for postmortem, police said.
