Two thieves, involved in 250 thefts, arrested in Punjab

Two persons, allegedly involved in nearly 250 major and minor thefts here, were arrested today, police said.

The accused brothers are identified as Dhana Khan alias Dhana and Ajay Khan alias Rajan and were arrested from here today, Phagwara SP Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu told reporters.

One stolen motorcycle, two LEDs, one TV set, two cooking gas cylinders, a large number of water taps and other household items were recovered from them, Sidhu said.

The duo used to target the houses of NRIs which remained locked for long period of time and other such unoccupied houses, he said, adding they operated only in Phagwara as it was a rich NRI belt of Doaba.
 

The SP further said that more revelations and recoveries were expected during interrogation.

Their third accomplice Hari Om was still at large, he said, adding the accused belonged to Santoshi Nagar falling under Rama Mandi, Jalandhar police station.
