Two TN farmers climb tree in protest

Two Tamil Nadu farmers allegedly climbed a tree during their ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar here demanding that the Centre declare a drought relief package and loan waiver for peasants from the southern state.

The Drought-hit peasants have been protesting in the national capital from last Tuesday with skulls of farmers who have allegedly committed suicide.

The two farmers climbed the neem tree and threatened to jump off if their demands are not met, police said.

Police and their fellow farmers pacified them.
