Two red sander woodcutters from Tamil Nadu were arrested today when they were chopping the trees in Karivepaakula valley at nearby Seshachalam forest hill range, a senior police official said.

"The arrests were made when a 12 member task force team on routine combing operation spotted the duo, in their twenties, cutting red sander trees," Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force Superintendent of Police P Ravishankar told PTI

Of the two arrested, one was from Salem and the other, a graduate from Vellore, he said, adding four axes and two sharpening tools were seized from them.
