Two Faridabad-based traders were robbed off their car and three mobile phones allegedly by four persons in Modi Nagar town near food plaza, police said today.

The incident took place last night when provision store owners Sunder and Brij Pal were on their way to Faridabad from Meerut and upon reaching near food plaza, they were intercepted by the robbers who allegedly trained a pistol at the duo and snatched their mobile phones and car, SHO Deepak Sharma said.

Upon getting the information, police reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

A search operation has been also launched by putting barricades on Delhi-Meerut Road at several busy intersections.

Sharma further said that the modus-operandi of the robbers shows that they are notorious offenders and might have snatched the car for committing other heinous crimes.

"We are keeping a close watch on them and have kept their mobile phones on surveillance. They will be nabbed soon," the SHO added.
