Two trampled to death by elephants

Two persons were trampled to death by elephants in separate incidents in Bankura district of West Bengal since yesterday.

The first incident occurred at a place under Barjora police station near Sharjhora forest today when a 40-year-old man Madhusudan Dhibar was killed by an elephant, Barjora Range officer Mohan Chandra Shit said.

The Range officer said a herd of 15-18 elephants has been spotted in the forest.

In another incident at Chatimbagh village under Saltora police station, a man came in front of two elephants when he was trampled to death by one pachyderm, Saltora Range officer S Chakrabarty said.
