Two tremors rock Bhaderwah

Two low intensity tremors today shook Bhaderwah valley and adjoining areas in Doda-Kishtwar belt of Jammu and Kashmir, triggering panic among the people.

The moderate intensity tremor measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale shook the Valley at around 3.03 AM followed by another tremor of 2.9 on the Richter Scale at 11.40 AM today, Met officials said.

There was no immediate report of any casualty or injury to any person from anywhere, the officials said.

However, it triggered fear among the people, most of whom were sleeping at their homes when the tremors shook the valley, leading them to rush out of their houses.
 

Yesterday also a low intensity tremor measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale shook Bhaderwah valley.

In May, Bhaderwah and adjoining areas witnessed 37 tremors, in which two persons were killed and nearly 70 others injured.
