Two naxals, one of them carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head, were arrested in insurgency-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh today, the police said.
Kadti Podia (42) and Mitthu Kadti (20) were apprehended by a joint team of security forces which was conducting a search operation in Mirtoor police station area, a police official told PTI.
The composite squad of the Central Reserve Police Force's 199th battalion, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and the district force had launched the operation yesterday in the interiors of Mitroor, around 450 kms away from the state capital, he said.

When the patrolling team was advancing through forest of Pitepal and Cherli villages, they spotted the two suspects and took them in custody, according to the official.
Podia and Kadti were allegedly involved in an attack on a police party which was providing security to the under-construction Kodoli-Mirtoor-Reddy road on March 3, the official said, adding that Podia was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.
