Two under trials escaped from police custody while being taken to the jail after appearing in the court, jail authorities said here today.
Narain alias Dolly (27) and Vikram Singh alias Veetu tricked the policemen while being taken back to jail from the court yesterday, Jail Superintendent J P Rai said.
He said that while Dolly was in jail in connection with attempt to murder and other charges since March, Veetu has a dozen criminal cases including that of loot and dacoity against him.
Rai said that efforts are being made to nab the criminals.
