The women lodged in Indore District Jail are being tried under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly killing their husbands over family dispute last month.

According to the source, the women had submitted a written application, seeking termination of their pregnancy, to Jail Superintendent Santosh Solanki.

The women had conceived from their husbands before their arrests, the source said, adding the preliminary pregnancy tests conducted on them in jail had confirmed the pregnancy.

"Since the accused women are facing trial in the district court under section 302 of IPC, their request along with the medical report, would be submitted to the court for further action," the source added.

However, the exact progression of pregnancies could not be known.

According to police, one Usman (35) was set on fire allegedly by his wife as he was forcing her for prostitution.

While another undertrial is accused of bumping off her history-sheeter husband Dinesh.
