Two wagons of goods train derail near Surgaon-Banjari station

Two wagons of a goods train jumped off the track near Surgaon-Banjari station on Itarsi- Khandwa section of Bhopal railway division today, disrupting rail traffic.

Two empty wagons of a goods train derailed near Surgaon-Banjari station (in Khandwa district) between Itarsi and Khandwa stations around 3.20 pm, West Central Railway's Bhopal division Public Relation Officer (PRO) IA Siddique told PTI.

He said traffic on down rail track, close to the railroad on which the train derailed, has resumed at 4.30 pm.

Efforts are on to restore traffic on the up rail track from which the goods train jumped off, he added.
 

Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager has ordered an inquiry into the derailment, he added.
