Two wanted criminals held by STF

Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police arrested two dreaded criminals in separate incidents in the past 24 hours.

Sandip alias Bharat Nai, a notorious criminal of Meerut, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was arrested after an encounter with police in Kairana arae of Shamli district.

Two pistols and 11 live cartridges were recovered from the possession of Sandip, who has eight criminal cases registered against him.

Meanwhile, STF team arrested Saddu Yadav, wanted in 19 criminal cases, in Mankapur area in Gonda district, police said.

Yadav had been absconding ever since he was released for seven days on parole two years ago.
 

A country made weapon and two cartridges were seized from his possession, they added.
