The two wheels of the SLR of the train derailed at the newly-constructed track on platform number two, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Malda Division, R. Gupta said.
There was no casualty or injury to any one as the train was empty, he said, adding the cause of derailment was under investigation.
The SLR coach was ejected from the train before it left for Ranchi, Gupta, who was on a visit to Bhagalpur station for inspection, said.
