Two women die of swine flu in Guj

Meena Varaniya, a resident of Gandhigram area of Rajkot, died two days back at the Civil Hospital where she was admitted after being infected by the deadly H1N1 virus, sources said.

She died after four days of treatment and medical tests has confirmed that she was suffering from swine flu, sources said.

Another woman, Radha Karsanbhai (19), a native of Chotila town in Surendranagar district, was admitted to the Civil Hospital on January 13 after suffering from high fever and cold.

Radha was later found to be suffering from swine flu and she succumbed to the infection last night, sources said.

 

However, the district health department denied an outbreak of the disease and said both the women caught infection when they had gone outside the district.
