The victims, identified as Munni Rawaldev and her aunt Ranjan, were found dead at the latter's residence, police said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Munni had a dispute with her husband and had decided to stay with her aunt. However, her husband was not happy with this decision and had gone to convince her to come back home.
When Munni refused to go with him, he might have stabbed her with a sharp weapon. Later, when Ranjan tried to save her, he must have attacked her as well, injuring her seriously, they said.
Ranjan, who was later taken to civil hospital, she was declared brought dead, police said.
A complaint has been registered against the man, who is absconding.
