Two women trampled to death by wild elephants, another injured

A herd of wild elephants entered Janghal basti area in Amlokhi Tea Estate in Kaliabor of the district this morning and trampled the two women and injured the other, official sources said.

The dead women have been identified as Litia Lakra and Rumi Lakra, while the injured is Rekhamoni Lakra.

The elephants also damaged tea crops and some houses before retreating to the nearby jungles, the sources added.
