Two workers were killed and one injured when an under-construction building collapsed here, official said today.

All injured were rushed to hospital, where two persons were declared brought dead, said district officer Nitin Chandra Shukla.

Efforts are on to find out if anyone is still trapped in the debris, official said.

The investigation into the incident revealed that construction was on at the site in order to merge two buildings, official said adding, that the building owner had not taken the prior approval of Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority.

The police, meanwhile, has registered a case against the building owner under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
