Two youths travelling on train roofs get electrocuted

In two separate incidents, two youths got electrocuted while travelling on the roof top of suburban local trains in the district this evening, police said.

In the first incident, a 25-year-old youth travelling on the top of down Badlapur local was electrocuted between Thakurli and Kalyan stations at about 5.15 PM, police said.

In the second case, a 28-year-old youth travelling atop a Kasara-bound local, died after he accidentally touched a high-tension electricity cables at Thane railway station.

According to police, the train was not crowded and the victim was doing stunts atop the train's roof, when the incident took place around 5.40 PM at platform number five.
 

Bodies of both the youths were charred beyond recognition, police said adding that cases of accidental death were registered in both the incidents.
