After Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock, actor-comedian Tyler Perry is donating USD 1 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

The 47-year-old star announced the news on his Facebook page by posting a clip, in which he said he was giving USD 2,50,000 of the one million to the senior pastor Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, reported Entertainment Weekly.

Osteen received heavy criticism on social media when he tweeted prayers for those affected by the storm - with many questioning why Lakewood Church was not immediately opened in order to shelter Harvey flood victims.

"I know that there's been some controversy about Joel Osteen and him not opening the doors of the church. Joel and Victoria are amazing people - there's no way that they would lock people out of the church or not let people seek shelter," he said in the clip.

"There were some safety concerns, and I spoke to them on the phone, and it all made perfect sense to me. So, before you just run and judge someone real quick, you need to know the whole circumstances," Perry continued.

DiCaprio and Bullock have also donated USD 1 million each for hurricane relief efforts. Other celebrities, who have donated were 'Sean Diddy' Combs, Ruby Rose, Rachael Ray, Ellen Degeneres, and Fall Out Boy.
