Opposition BJP in Uttarakhand today disrupted proceedings in the state Assembly for the second consecutive day over its demand for a CBI probe into alleged sale of industrial land to real estate firms forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House till Tuesday.

As soon as the day's proceedings began in the House, BJP MLAs led by Leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt rose from their seats asking Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal to suspend the question hour and hold a debate on the alleged SIDCUL land scam on the floor of the House.

Bhatt alleged precious industrial land of Haridwar and Pantnagar SIDCUL was sold off to land mafia and private builders at throwaway prices in connivance with the state government. He said private builders made huge profits by selling them at more than double the price at which they had bought them.

Charging that the scam was worth at least Rs 1000 crore, the BJP leader demanded a CBI probe into it to expose the people behind it.
