Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat Tuesday unfurled the BJP flag at his private residence in Defence Colony here, signalling the launch of the party's 'Mera Parivar BJP Parivar' campaign in the state.

The voter outreach campaign will strengthen the party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in which it targets to win more than 400 seats, he said, and appealed to party workers to make the campaign a huge success.

Rawat said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming public meeting in Rudrapur on February 14 will be unprecedented and a huge turnout is expected.

He added that the prime minister has granted projects like all-weather roads and the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line to Uttarakhand, which shows how prominently the state figures in his scheme of things.

The chief minister also said that investments worth Rs 62,000 crore are being made in the road sector in Uttarakhand.

The Narendra Modi government has dealt a fatal blow to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and has strengthened the armed forces, he added.
