Flagging off relief material for Uttarakhand flood victims, Labour and Employment Minister Sis Ram Ola today asked the staff of Employees Provided Fund Organisation to fast track settlement claims of affected families.

Instructions have been issued not only to the regional office in Dehradun but also to all field offices of EPFO across the country "to fast track settlement of claims of PF, pension and Employee's Deposit Linked Insurance submitted by the families of affected persons," he said.

Twenty-two tonnes of relief material donated by EPFO staff was today sent through seven trucks to Uttarakhand. The relief material worth Rs 11 lakh comprised rice, flour, pulses, refined oil, sugar, potatoes, clothes, shoes etc.

The officers and staff of the organisation also presented a cheque of Rs one crore to the minister for the chief minister's relief fund.

The minister said that after the launch of the online transfer facility, delays in transfer of provident fund would further come down.

The Labour Ministry, he said, has already sent a proposal to enhance the wage ceiling for EPF for the workers engaged in different organised and unorganised sector entities.
