The Harish Rawat-led Congress government in Uttarakhand today asked the BJP to seek the resignation of all its five Lok Sabha MPs from the state saying their silence in Parliament was coming in the path of the state's development.

"BJP MPs from Uttarakhand should break their silence in Parliament so that decisions pending before the Centre pertaining to the state's development are expedited. If they cannot break their silence then the party should ask them to resign," Chief Minister Harish Rawat's media incharge Surendra Kumar said in a statement here.

Accusing the Centre of not releasing even a penny for the state in view of the approaching Ardhakumabh mela, he said the issue needs to be raised strongly in Parliament by BJP MPs.

"Despite the fact that the electorate of Uttarakhand sent five MPs to the Lok Sabha, the Narendra Modi government neither gave a cabinet berth to any of them nor expedited decision on pending matters related to the state," he said.

BJP won all five seats from the state in the last Lok Sabha polls.

Taking a dig at the opposition party for frequently leading delegations to the Governor and submitting memorandums to him, Kumar said if the party had approached its central leadership and its MPs spoken up in Parliament it would have done good to the state.
