Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul today awarded twenty-five students who were top scorers in the class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by state school education board this year in different streams.
Paul felicitated the students with the Governor's award which was launched this year after he took charge.
The students were given the award at a function held at the Raj Bhawan here.

In his address on the occasion, the Governor said that he had started the award to awaken the feeling of healthy competition among students which was necessary for constant growth.
Congratulating the award winners, their parents and teachers, Paul said good education is not confined to books only.
It also means inculcating a sense of values and ethics among students, he said.
Underlining the need for character-building among students, Paul quoted Swami Vivekananda who used to say it is a person's character which makes him special, not his dress.
State Education minister Mantri Prasad Naithani thanked the Governor for the initiative which he described as the beginning of a golden chapter in the sphere of education in the state.
The top scorers got a cash award and a certificate from the Governor.
