Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul today visited Kedarnath to review the reconstruction work underway at the Himalayan shrine.

Expressing satisfaction at the pace of work despite precarious weather conditions at the high-altitude temple, Paul hoped that with dedicated and combined efforts of the state government, the armed forces and the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering bravehearts, the famed centre of faith will soon return to its original glory.

Accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Rakesh Sharma, Garhwal Commissioner C S Napchyal, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Raghav Langar and SP Barinderjeet Singh, the governor was briefed about the progress of reconstruction work by Sharma, a Raj Bhawan release said.

The proposed map of a new Kedarpuri was also presented by the officials on the occasion.

It was Paul's first visit to Kedarnath after he took over as Governor of Uttarakhand earlier this month.
