U'khand police's City Patrol Unit wins FICCI 'Smart Police'

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has selected the City Patrol Unit of the Uttarakhand police for an award in recognition of its work in the field of road safety and traffic management.

Superintendent of Police and nodal officer City Patrol Unit Nivedita Kukreti will receive the FICCI 'Smart Police' award on behalf of the state police at a programme in Delhi on May 25, a statement issued here by the state police media cell said.

The Uttarakhand police's City Patrol Unit has been selected for the award out of 133 entries received from state police and central para-military forces, it said.
 

The unit is operational in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudrapur and Haldwani in the state to check street crimes besides taking road safety and traffic management measures.
