Seers of Juna Akhara fasting in protest against alleged demolition of a structure near a temple in Haridwar today sought Governor Aziz Qureshi's intervention in the matter asking him to take appropriate action against officials responsible for it.

A delegation of the saints led by Mahamandaleshwar Ramsharan ji Maharaj of Shri Panchdarshanam Juna (Bhairav) Akhada met the governor and urged him to take appropriate action against the district administration holding it responsible for the demolition of a structure on Dukharan Hanuman Mandir Birla Ghat on March 14.

Assuring them of all help, the governor broke their seven-day fast by offering them laddoos and water.

The saints presented Qureshi with a 300-year-old painting of Har-Ki-Pauri.
