U19 batsman Sarfaraz included in Mumbai senior squad

Sarfaraz Khan, the Under-19 cricketer who was among the leading run-scorers for India in the Junior World Cup in UAE, was today included in Mumbai's senior team, which is currently playing in the West Zone One-Day league in Rajkot.

Khan had amassed 211 runs in six games with two half centuries in the U-19 World Cup, where India finished fifth.

He will join the team ahead of Mumbai's last two league matches on March 2 and 3 against Saurashtra and Maharashtra, respectively, MCA's joint secretary Nitin Dalal said.

This is the first time Khan has as been included in the Mumbai senior squad.
 

Khan and off-spin bowling allrounder Deepak Hooda were the two Indian batsmen who scored in excess of 200 runs and also averaged 70-plus in the U-19 World Cup.
