U2 frontman, Bono, was rescued from a restaurant by cops during Bastille Day terror attack in France.

The 56-year-old legendary singer, was spotted enjoying a meal in a nearby restaurant at the time of the tragedy in the French city, reported Mirror.

"Suddenly I saw people running, without shouting. By reflex I grabbed the arm of Christian Estrosi, the former Nice Mayor, who was sitting close to Bono," said Anne-Laure Rubi, the owner of the upmarket restaurant, which is a famous celeb nightspot.

As the attack on the Promenade des Anglais became clear, the Irish rocker was eventually rescued by armed officers who led him to the nearby Massena square.

"It took around half an hour for the police to get us out and Like everybody else, Bono had to put his hands on his head, and was told to remain calm," said a diner.
