UAE delegation to attend major IT event in India

The United Arab Emirates plans to send a large IT delegation to India next year to attend an international exhibition to boost trade in information technology sector between the two nations.

IT-promotion body of the UAE, the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), is facilitating the visit of a large IT delegation to attend INDIASOFT-2015 to be held between February 12-13 in New Delhi.

"We at ESC are adding new dimensions to the Council's activities and add value by providing networking opportunities both to global and Indian ICT industry in their efforts to create win-win synergy," said Kamal Vachnai, Regional Director of ESC for the Middle-East.
 

Supported by Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the show will have many new facets. "Innovation and value addition to software solutions are the main thrust of the show, where around 150 Indian IT firms will display their cutting edge solutions and products," he said.

Several Indian IT companies are taking INDIASOFT-2015 as a platform to launch innovative IT products & services. Delegates from across the world are converging for the event.

Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India in Dubai, said INDIASOFT has created its brand image and buyers get a first hand feel of the innovations that are being offered by Indian IT industry for the growth of their enterprises.

"Several global companies have started their operations in India or expanded their business operations in their respective countries after visiting INDIASOFT event, as they have been able to outsource the best of IT talent, products and services," he said.

A very high growth has been observed in exports of electronics hardware from India to Middle-East countries during 2013-14. It is estimated that electronics goods export to Middle- East Countries during 2013-14 is valued at USD 1738 million up from USD 1630 million estimated in the year 2012-13 registering a growth of 6.66 per cent.

Among the Middle-East countries, UAE was the top destination for India's electronics export followed by Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Indian Electronics and IT exports were to the tune of USD 92 billion in 2013-14 up from USD 84 billion in 2012-13.

ESC believes that in March 2015, Indian electronics and IT exports will cross USD 100 billion mark. IT will be to the tune of USD 97 billion and around USD 8 billion will be the contribution from electronics hardware.
