UBL's Q1 net profit down 48.09% to Rs 27.05 crore

Liquor firm United Breweries today reported 48.09 per cent decline in standalone net profit to Rs 27.05 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2016.

It had posted a net profit of Rs 52.11 crore in the July-September quarter a year-ago, the company said in a filing to the BSE.

Total income from operations on standalone basis was up 3.16 per cent to Rs 2,201.24 crore during the period under review as against Rs 2,133.74 crore of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Its total expenses were up 4.45 per cent to Rs 2,150.29 crore as against Rs 2,058.54 crore.
 

For the first half of FY 2016-17, United Breweries' net profit was marginally down 0.08 per cent to Rs 174.11 crore as against a net profit of Rs 174.25 crore in the year-ago period.

Its total income from operation in the first half of the current fiscal was up 9.60 per cent at Rs 5,445.87 crore as against Rs 4,968.55 crore in the same period last year.

Shares of the company today settled at Rs 875.00 on BSE, up 0.39 per cent from previous close.
