The over two-hour long procedure began soon after the 52-year-old Uddhav reached the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra this morning.
It was completed around noon, hospital sources said, adding Uddhav is expected to be discharged in a couple of days.
The angioplasty was done by the same medical team which performed a similar procedure on his father, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, in 2009.
Uddhav had undergone an angiography on July 16 which had revealed three blockages, prompting the medical team to suggest bypass surgery as an option. The same day, doctors had briefed Uddhav's father about his son's medical condition.
Uddhav's estranged cousin and MNS chief Raj Thackeray was also at the hospital, along with wife Sharmila and mother Kunda.
Raj had visited Uddhav at Lilavati on Monday and even drove him to Matoshree bungalow, the Thackeray family home in suburban Bandra, after the angiography.
