The Congress led opposition UDF today took out a march to the Raj Bhavan, protesting against the Centre's 'neglect' and 'step motherly' treatment to Kerala.
"When Chief Ministers of other states manage to get their demands fulfilled from the centre, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan failed to do for the state,"Opposition leader in the assembly, Ramesh Chennithala, said addressing workers at the march and sit in, organised by the UDF state committee.
He hit out at the centre's 'neglect' of Kerala's just demands, including delay in sanctioning of the Palakkad railway coach factory and also the state government's 'inefficiency' to get various projects sanctioned from the centre
"After the Narendra Modi government came to power, was any new project started in Kerala by the centre? Did the Prime Minister come to Kerala to lay the foundation stone of any project?", he asked.
The Prime Minister came only for the inauguration of the Kochi Metro, a project launched by the previous UDF government, he said.
Several UDF leaders, including former Union minister Shashi Tharoor, K M Mani, KPCC President M M Hassan and IUML leader M K Muneer also participated in the dharna.
