Uganda has sought technical assistance from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), to promote cooperative dairy sector.
A delegation led by the chairperson of Dairy Development Authority, Uganda, Katureebe Kobrungi Mary Bernadete, accompanied by some board members, held discussions with NDDB chairperson Amrita Patel in this regard.
The delegation from the east African country has sought the board's expertise in exploring the prospects of organising the dairy cooperatives, an official statement said.

"During their visit to the NDDB between July 28 and 31, the delegation requested NDDB's expertise in exploring the prospects of organising dairy cooperatives in Uganda," it said.
The delegation was briefed about NDDB's training modules focussing on capacity building of milk producers. It was impressed with technological innovations introduced by NDDB.
"During the discussion, they sought technical support from NDDB to set up processing capacity and training facilities," it said.
NDDB has agreed to facilitate training and development of dairy personnel from Uganda, the statement said.
