Manab Majumdar, a London-based Indian freelance journalist, has died, his family said today.
Majumdar, 73, died in his sleep in the early hours yesterday, and is survived by his son Sanjay Majumdar, who is the BBC correspondent in New Delhi.
Majumdar had worked for India Weekly for quite some time and recently he was working for CitiBank. He was also associated with the India League and voluntary agency CARE.
Amit Roy, President of the Indian Journalists' Association said, "Manab, a long standing member of the IJA, was an institution, a much loved and warm human being whose wide circle of friends extended well beyond fellow journalists.
