British Home Secretary Theresa May visited a Hindu Temple here on the occasion of International Women's Day and called upon women to fulfill their potential to encourage others to go above and beyond.

Praising women dedicated to helping others, May said she felt privileged at being in the company of hundreds of motivated women at the Neasden Temple .

She paid tribute to the sense of solidarity and friendship that she witnessed there, and praised the work of the women who were helping others selflessly and setting a fine example encouraging others to go above and beyond.

May was speaking at a conference titled Women: 'Above and Beyond' at the Temple officially known as BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir yesterday.

The conference, which aimed to celebrate the achievements of women and inspire them to fulfil their potential, also extended its support this year to Climate Week - Britain's biggest climate change campaign.
