Visiting UK Minister of State for Crime Prevention Jeremy Browne at a press conference said that British Prime Minister David Cameron has mandated him to form a delegation to restore the looted funds.
Meanwhile, Britain would appoint a permanent counsellor in Cairo to link the investigations in London and the information coming from Egypt, Browne said.
He said that he met with Egyptian officials concerned with recovering Egypt's smuggled and frozen overseas funds to exchange information.
An agreement was reached to hold more meetings to know the exact legal situation in order to restore the funds, he said, adding that British MoS for Middle East Affairs Alistair Burt will arrive in Egypt soon to foster bilateral relations.
The UK is willing to cooperate with Egypt and offer technical assistance to retrieve its funds looted and smuggled abroad by former regime officials, Browne said.
The remark came during a meeting with Justice Minister today that also took up Egypt's efforts since the outbreak of the 2011 revolution to restore the looted funds.
