The Uttarakhand High Court today issued a notice to the state government on a PIL seeking relief on loans to farmers.
The notice was issued by a division bench of Chief Justice K M Joseph and Justice Alok Singh.
The PIL was filed by Congress leader Ganesh Upadhayay seeking loan waiver for farmers on the ground that there had been an increase in the number of suicides by debt-ridden farmers in the state in recent months.
