Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said the policies of his government were people centric and it has taken steps to ensure overall development of the state.

Speaking on the Congress government's completion of four years in office, Rawat said 6.5 lakh people received social security pension last year compare to 1.75 lakh in 2012.

The government will also launch a vocational training scheme and a skill development programme for school dropouts in the state, the Chief Minister said.

Rawat lauded Finance minister Indira Hridayesh for an impressive budget and said the state's per capita income has increased.

"Per capita income during 2014-15 stood at 1.55 lakh, up from 78,000 in 2012-13," he said.

"50 per cent expenses under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana were borne by the state government," Rawat claimed.
