Ukranian attacked by elephant hospitalised

A Ukranian who was reportedly attacked by an elephant at Muthanga forest in Wayanad district has been hospitalised. Victor Buriar (33) was found limping with a fractured leg at Ponkuzhi area in Muthanga forest last night by forest officials, who were conducting combing operations to nab Maoists, police said. He was picked up and questioned with the aid of an interpreter as he was not fluent in English, brought to Kozhikode today and admitted to the medical college hospital, they said. Buriar has a valid visa up to mid March, they said. Hospital sources quoted Briar as having told them he sustained the fracture after he was attacked by an elephant.
