Kerala Congress(M) leader and Lok Sabha member Jose K Mani today alleged there is an "ulterior" motive behind the "false propaganda" that his party will join hands with NDA in state politics.

"Alliance with NDA is not in our agenda. The motive behind such false propaganda is a suspect," he told reporters here when asked about reports that the party may join hands with BJP.

His statement comes two days after a powerful section in Kerala Congress(M) headed by P J Joseph publicly opposed an alleged intention of KC(M) chairman K M Mani to join the NDA camp.

"Where goodness exists, there lives Kerala Congress," he said to a query on an article penned by CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on the party mouthpiece 'Deshabhimani.'

In his article, Balakrishnan had spoken of the political scenario after Mani severed ties with UDF and said CPI(M) would not allow BJP to be the beneficiary of the collapse of the Congress-led alliance in the state.

"We don't have any enmity with anyone. All like us. Those who think feel that our stand is correct. No one has any issues with us," Mani said.

Kerala Congress(M) led by Mani had last week withdrawn support to the Congress-led UDF coalition of which it was a part for more than three decades.

KC(M) had also announced that the party MLAs would now sit as a separate block in the state Assembly.

The party would be "equidistant" from Opposition UDF, ruling CPI(M) led LDF and BJP-led NDA, Mani had said.
