An ultra-modern bus terminus will be constructed through public-private-partnership (PPP) at Manali, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said today, after laying the foundation stone of the multi-crore-rupee project.
He directed the officers to complete all the necessary formalities at the earliest, so that the work on the ambitious project could start.
Thakur said the project should be completed within the stipulated time-period and it should be ensured that the bus terminus became one of the best in the state.
Ensuring better connectivity to even the remotest area of the hill state was the priority of his government, the BJP leader said, adding that adequate provisions were made in the state budget in this regard.
Earlier, Thakur laid the foundation stone for the construction of a road from National Highway-21 to Bran village under the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), which would benefit the people of four panchayats.
He also laid the foundation stone for a project to improve the condition of the road from Marhi Gadherni to Parsha Shaleen under PMGSY and for the beautification of the Green Tax Barrier near the Aloo ground.
The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of a police station building and a nature park at Manali.
